Instructions for Preparation of Learning Packages

Periodic progress reporting by authors – for NEXT project ONLY

How to report

Basic information

Dear Authors,

If your outline has been approved (you can find the approval in the corresponding task in OpenProject), you can start developing the learning module in English.

Please follow these instructions when developing the LM:

  1. Respect the approved outline.
  2. LM development includes all the required types of content, i.e.:
    1. text (including links to external resources)
    2. tests (self-evaluation questions)
    3. images (pictures, graphs, flowcharts, etc.)
    4. worksheets
    5. videos/animations
    6. license file
    7. scenarios for interactive elements (scenarios as a part of the text)
  3. Handbooks and examples of specific content types can be found below.
  4. The core of a learning module (topic) is the text, which must be written in genuine MS Word, using the desired styles within a unified template (see below).
  5. Important: Please pay attention to author rights. All outputs must strictly comply with licensing conditions (i.e. the right of the grant provider for using the outputs, their public distribution, editing and modifying, translations, archiving, sublicensing, processing, and creation of derived works). Therefore, all content used in the materials (including pictures and videos) must be available under a compatible license (e.g. Creative Commons cc BY or CC BY-SA).
  6. When the content is finished, rename the respective files as follows (YYY is always the number of the corresponding learning material):
    1. text: “YYY-A-Text-v1-EN.docx”
    2. tests: “TestQQEN.xlsx”, where QQ is the sequence number of the test (from 01 to max. 99)
    3. images: “FigQQEN.jpg”, where QQ is the sequence number of the image (from 01 to max. 99); note that the file name must be identical to the image references given in the text
    4. worksheets: “YYY-A-WS-v1-EN.docx” – all worksheets for students (without solutions) plus all worksheets for teachers (with correct/suggested solutions) in one document
    5. videos/animations: “VideoQQEN.mp4”, where QQ is the sequence number of the video (from 01 to max. 99)
    6. license file “YYY-A-Licence-v1-EN.xlsx”
  7. Prior to submitting, please get the completeness, formatting and other formal details of the LM approved by your local coordinator. UPDATED 8. 8. 2024
  8. In the final stage, all files created by the author shall be zipped and submitted through the OpenProject system, following the structure of ZIP files described in the Handbook for creation of learning content, chapter 7.4. The file shall be named “YYY-A-LM-v1-EN.zip”.
  9. If the videos or images are too large and cannot be uploaded to OpenProject, please upload a ZIP file without videos/images and make a note to OpenProject or e-mail it to us. We will send you a link to a secure, high-capacity storage where you can upload large files.
  10. For questions concerning the development, you can use a shared Q&A form on Google.

Thank you very much!
